Siege Slinger Ultra – Game Manual
Siege Slinger Ultra is a physics-based arcade destruction game where you command a medieval catapult to dismantle procedural fortresses. The goal is simple: knock down every block using a limited arsenal of projectiles while battling gravity and structural integrity.
🎮 Controls
The game is designed for both Desktop (Mouse) and Mobile (Touch).
-
Aim & Power: Click/Touch the slingshot and drag backward.
-
Angle: Dragging up/down adjusts the trajectory.
-
Power: Dragging further back increases shot velocity (capped at a max limit).
-
-
Fire: Release your finger/mouse button to loose the projectile.
-
Cancel Shot: (Implicit) If you drag back but want to cancel, usually dragging back to the center slowly releases tension (though in this specific arcade version, simply releasing fires the shot).
-
Ammo Select: Tap the icons in the bottom-left corner (Rock, Bomb, Trident) to switch weapons.
-
Fullscreen: Tap the
⛶ Fullscreenbutton in the top right for an immersive experience.
💣 The Arsenal (Ammo Types)
You have three distinct projectile types. Managing your inventory is key to high scores.
-
🪨 Rock (Standard)
-
Supply: Infinite.
-
Description: A solid, heavy stone. Good for general destruction.
-
Strategy: Use this for picking off weak top blocks or when you need to conserve special ammo.
-
Damage: Standard impact damage.
-
-
💣 Bomb (Explosive)
-
Supply: Limited (Start with 3). You earn +1 after every victory.
-
Description: A black iron casing with a burning fuse.
-
Effect: Explodes on heavy impact or after settling on the ground.
-
Damage: Deals 1.5x impact damage plus massive Area of Effect (AOE) damage that hits multiple blocks nearby.
-
Strategy: Aim for the base of a tower. One well-placed bomb can topple an entire structure by destroying its foundation.
-
-
🔱 Cluster (Trident/Split)
-
Supply: Limited (Start with 2). You earn +1 after every victory.
-
Description: A specialized projectile designed to sow chaos.
-
Effect: Splits into sub-projectiles/particles mid-air (visualized as a scatter effect).
-
Damage: Lower individual damage (0.8x), but hits erratically.
-
Strategy: Best used against wide, spread-out structures or “roof” blocks that are hard to hit with a single stone.
-
🏗️ Level Design & Progression
The game features a Procedural Level Generator, meaning no two runs are exactly alike, but they follow a specific difficulty curve:
-
Grid System: Towers are built on a grid.
-
Progression Algorithm:
-
Width: Starts at ~3 columns. Increases by 1 every few levels (max 8).
-
Height: Starts at ~3 rows. Increases by 1 every 2 levels.
-
Fortification (HP): Blocks get tougher every level (
HP = 20 + Level * 5). By Level 10, blocks are nearly 3x as durable as Level 1.
-
-
Architecture:
-
Levels 1-2: Simple isolated towers. Easy to topple.
-
Level 3+: “Roof” blocks appear, connecting towers together. This stabilizes the structure, making it harder to knock over individual pillars.
-
⚛️ Physics & Mechanics
The game runs on a custom physics engine tailored for satisfaction (“Juice”):
-
Structural Gravity: This is the core mechanic. Blocks are not static. If you destroy a block at the bottom of a stack, the blocks above it will detect the lack of support and physically fall.
-
Fall Damage: Falling blocks take damage when they hit the ground or other blocks. This allows for Chain Reactions—destroying one block can cause a collapse that destroys five others automatically.
-
Screen Shake: The camera shakes violently when bombs explode or heavy towers collapse, adding weight to the destruction.
-
Particles: Debris flies off blocks when they are hit or destroyed.
🏆 Scoring & Strategy
-
Win Condition: Reduce the “Enemies” counter (block count) to 0.
-
Star Rating System:
-
⭐⭐⭐ (3 Stars): Clear the level using very few shots (Efficiency is key!).
-
⭐⭐ (2 Stars): Average performance.
-
⭐ (1 Star): You eventually cleared it, but it was messy.
-
-
Tips for Success:
-
Aim Low: Hitting the top of a tower rarely works well. Hit the bottom to make gravity do the work for you.
-
Use the Arc: You can shoot over a front wall to hit a back wall by aiming high.
-
Hoard Bombs: Save your explosive ammo for levels with “Roof” connectors, as they are very stable and hard to knock down with just rocks.
